The shady traveler (continued)

Vivien also became a close friend of François de Grossouvre, François Mitterand’s former close advisor on African affairs, and also took part in secret operations in connection with Chad at the beginning of the 1980s. It should be pointed out that François de Grossouvre committed suicide years later in disturbing circumstances.

Finally, though the list is not exhaustive, one must also consider the numerous connections which Vivien was able to establish with the officials and leaders of certain African countries due to his membership of the Grand Orient de France, whose networks of solidarity with the countries of the Third World were widely led astray to be used by business men or by individuals with far less mentionable aims.

Finally, in 1991 he became Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in the Cresson government.

We’ll come back to the character and activities of this elected representative and to certain of his close friends in a series of articles which are listed below. But, as an example, and for those who would doubt the truthfulness of the information contained in this article, we are in a position to publish a photo dating from 1984, found in the archives of the National Assembly. In it we see Alain Vivien during a visit to an Arab country at war with Israel at the time, accompanied by General Audran, the coordinator of the sale of arms for the Ministry of Defense; General Audran was assassinated by a commando of the terrorist group Action Directe a year later. But, at the time, did Audran know that the rep he was travelling with had established connections with individuals belonging to the same movement which would plan and carry out his assassination, less than a year later?
